Working on formatting Unexpected Blessings to submit it to the Indie Writer's Project, and just read this paragraph:
"Angus gently kissed her forehead. “June Bug, every parent wants to protect their children from pain, and none of us can do it. What we do instead is teach them that pain is part of life, and we have to learn from it, and allow our pain to give us more compassion for others when they are hurting. Your job is not to protect your girls from pain, but to teach them that pain isn’t a reason, or an excuse or a validation. Pain is part of life. When we hurt, we may want to strike out, but that is not the solution. Admit to the pain, ask for help, and accept that sometimes, there is no relief in sight, so you seek comfort, because it is all you can get.”"
Have you read "Unexpected Blessings" yet? I know I shared in a recent blog post how re-reading these early books is giving me a new appreciation for them.
If you enjoy reading uplifting, comforting fiction. I would suggest you give this book a try. Attractively priced on Amazon and free to Kindle Unlimited subscribers.
