It is almost time for the St. Jude half marathon. It is now seventeen days away. I have met all my training goals, and have done one half marathon as a training exercise. This Saturday will be my last long walk, I will do twelve miles. Eight miles on Saturday November 25, and then St. Jude on December 2nd.

I finished the glasses yesterday morning, and picked up the shirts yesterday afternoon.

I washed the shirts, rolled them into the glasses, and set them up on the bar. This morning, I put each person's initials on the bottom of their glass so that everyone will get the right size shirt, and then I boxed everything up to go to Memphis.

I know it is still early, but I like to have things done. I had to do the glasses myself, as it was too small of a quantity to have them done, and I think my little DIY project turned out well. I needed to do something to feel a sense of accomplishment.

I am really looking forward to Memphis, and to seeing my friends and family there. I want to have a good race, but the really important thing to me is spending time with my family and friends remembering Cecil. I should really say celebrating Cecil, because I remember him all the time, but remembering alone in my mind and remembering out loud with others is a completely different thing.

I know there will be a lot of shared stories and laughter in Memphis, and that is exactly what I need. That is what I miss the most. The shared laughter. Cecil saw humor everywhere, and he shared the humor with everyone. We laughed all the time. I sometimes remember things and laugh by myself; it will be good to share that laughter again.
