Some Days

The hardest thing for me about living alone is having no one to distract me from my thoughts.
Some Days - my brain recites an endless litany of my failures and mistakes. The things I did that I am ashamed of, and the things I didn't do that I am ashamed of.
Some Days - I get stuck in a loop of personal bloopers.
Some Days - My internal monologue finds fault with everything I do; mocks my efforts to be productive and contribute.
Some Days - It is hard to keep trying - because of that relentless critical internal voice.
Does that ever happen to you?
I think most of us have an internal critic that refuses to be silenced. A voice that talks to us in a way that we would never talk to someone else.
I know that living with other people doesn't always silence that inner critic.
If you are reading this, I want you to know something important.
You are more than your failures and mistakes.
You are more than your personal bloopers.
You are worthy.
You make a difference just by existing.
You have been the reason for someone to smile.
You have been the light someone needed in their personal darkness.
You are loved - I love you simply because you exist - and I love you for taking the time to read my thoughts.
My hope is that you will remember this post - and on those days when your inner critic is loudest - you will silence them with the knowledge that you matter.
I'll keep working on my inner critic. Maybe someday I will actually silence my inner critic too.
