Looking up

I've managed to write over three thousand words in my work in progress since my blog post five days ago.
Someone, or a few someones are reading my books, and I am accumulating Kindle page reads.
No ratings or reviews, but at least someone liked the book enough to keep reading.
I'm getting better at making myself look away from the things that weigh me down, and making myself do the things that lift me up.
I'm realizing that I will have to consciously work at not falling back into despair.
There is so much to look at and think about that is hard, and sad, and frightening.
It is much harder to find joy and positivity.
I can't create positive uplifting stories from a dark and sad place.
I need to retrain my brain to look up. To see the magic of a blue and cloudless sky.
To find the beauty and magic that are always somewhere waiting to be found.
I remind myself that throughout history, art and music have been created in the darkest of times to lift us up.
I am working on remembering to look to art and music to lift myself up so that I can hopefully create art that lifts others.
I pray that the day will come when I will wake up and the positivity will come naturally again.
And until then, I will keep working to find the light.
