Good News - Part Two

Last year, I joined an association of Catholic Business Owners called Catholic Owned. According to Google, Catholic Owned is a digital marketplace and directory platform that connects consumers with verified Catholic-owned and Catholic-aligned businesses, makers, and service providers.
It is so much more than that. It is a community of believers, it is a social network, it is a support group, and it has been for me a great way to meet people who lift me up in spirit, and who encourage me to keep writing, even though it has been hard.
Now for the good news. Catholic Owned has started a book club, and the first book they are reading is my historical novel, "Sowing Freedom, Reaping Joy". We are discussing the book over five sessions, one every other week. The first session was September 17, 2026.
I simply do not have words for what an amazing experience it was to participate in a discussion about my work and hear the thoughts of others about the characters and the story. I am so grateful to Catholic Owned for this opportunity, and it has really fueled my desire to keep writing.
Those of you who have read my blog for a while know that I have struggled and still struggle to find my audience. This book club has informed me that the imaginary audience I have written for truly does exist.
It is not too late to join! Follow the link above to Catholic Owned and go to the events page. You can register there. The next meeting is October 1, and we are only 105 pages into the book, so you can catch up.
The meetings featured a guided discussion with questions provided prior to the meeting. I promise an uplifting experience with faith-filled people if you decide to join us.
Over the past year, hanging on to my desire to write and share stories of people of faith living their lives according to God's plan and purpose has been hard. Often, I felt like I was screaming into the void.
Maybe I am. But there are people out there who want to hear this message, and now I have the opportunity to interact with them on a regular basis.
And that, my friends, is an amazing and beautiful thing.
