Birth of a Story

No matter how many times I get an idea for a new story, it is super exciting. The stories don't always evolve the way I initially envision them, but that doesn't damper my excitement in the least.

I've been somewhat stuck working on my current book. I know where I want the story to go, and kind of how to get there, but I just can't build the bridge from where I am to where I need to go. In the past, when I have gotten stuck like this, it has helped me to work on something else for a while.

I have had the rough idea for this year's Christmas book in the back of my mind for a while, and so I decided to start working on that. Of course, I stalled right away, because I didn't do enough pre-work.

Now that I am doing the pre-work, I am super excited to start writing, and to hurry up and finish my work in progress. I know that while I am actively working on the new story, my brain is working out the logjam for my current project.

Fingers crossed; hoping both projects turn out as well as I want them to.
